Train with conductor

This photo was taken between 1909-1923 and features a steam train with a conductor (or engineer?) standing at the front.

Union Station 1908

This is a postcard (front only) of the Train Concourse in Union Station, Washington, D. C. circa 1908.

Train in train station

This photo is from 1929 and features two train workers standing in front of a train sitting at a train station. You can see some passengers on the side waiting to board.

Steam Railroad Map (Pennsylvania)

This is a map of the steam railroad routes in Pennsylvania from 1912. This kind of thing makes for a great background in a junk journal or vintage collage.

Edwardian train with engineers

This photo was taken sometime after 1909 and before 1940, which isn’t very helpful for dating but at least it’s obviously not a Victorian era train situation.

1935 train

This train looks super futuristic but it’s actually from the 1930s! I don’t have any other info for it, but I’m curious as to why it looks the way it does. Is it a promo train, maybe?

“By Broomstick Train” poster

This is a transit poster from 1895-1911, roughly, and features a woman with huge sleeves running towards a trolley train. If you’re into those sleeves you might also be interested in the Gay 90’s fashion micro-era!

Group on a train, under a bridge

This photo is from 1898 and features a huge group of people standing at the rear platform of a train as it’s parked under a bridge. Actually, that might be an aqueduct.

Two kids waiting for the train

This photo was taken in 1893 and features two kids waiting for a train in the train station’s waiting room. Love their little outfits!

Union Pacific train

Here’s another futuristic-looking train from 1934. This one is sitting at a station but looks about ready to take off into outer space!

I hope you enjoyed these images! If you use them in a collage or junk journal spread, leave a comment and let me know!
